Among Us

Safe for most kids
Among Us is an online multiplayer game that allows 4-15 users to play as the crew of a spaceship. At the beginning of each game, some characters are randomly assigned as Imposters, whose job it is to assassinate the unsuspecting crew. Among Us has three game modes: local private freeplay games, online invite-only games, and online public games.

Messaging Capabillities
Text chat is an important feature of an Among Us game. Between rounds, players exchange chat messages with the rest of the crew to try to identify the Imposters among the group. There is a “Quick Chat Only” mode for players under 13 that only allows them to select from a prepared list of dialogue options rather than freely typing in the chat window.
Location Sharing
No public location sharing.
Parental Controls
Among Us has some in-game parental controls. Apple and Android parental controls can also be used at the device level.
Insights
The term “murder game” can frighten some parents; however, Among Us features only mild cartoon violence. Local freeplay and online invite-only game modes are the safest options for children.
